"The Speed of Time" will visually measure the pace of 21st century consumer society. I invite everyone to place a part of one's history - a personal time piece - into the center piece of this sculpture. This monolithic obelisk will estimate time like many ancient devises humans used to conceptualize time.

Artistic Approach - Demarche artistique

The work I make, or discover, is simple and beautiful. This beauty might be overlooked, so I call it art
and draw attention to it. Whether I photograph natural occurrences or arrange rocks and sticks, I am isolating beauty, so people can see it elsewhere. "The Speed of Time" made me realize that every vertical object' describes the rotating earth.

Course of study/work - Curriculum Vitae

Steuart Bremner studied sculpture at the University of Colorado and at SummerVail Art Workshop. He has realized his ideas by running a bronze foundry, making jewelry, forging iron and building public sculptures in steel, snow and wood. He skiis and hikes at home in Colorado and looks forward to witnessing the rotation of the earth every day.
